Auckland South Corrections Facility was set up as a public private partnership with New Zealand’s Department of Corrections and operates under a 25-year concession due to expire in 2040.
Planum was financial advisor to AMP Capital who has acquired a 40 per cent equity stake in the Auckland South Corrections Facility in New Zealand from InfraRed Capital Partners. Planum also advised AMP Capital on the acquisition of a further 30 per cent interest from John Laing in 2020.
AMP Capital will make the investment via its Community Infrastructure Fund (CommIF). It joins AMP Capital’s wider portfolio, which already includes $5.5 billion worth of up and running PPP assets in Australia and New Zealand.
