Planum Partners is advising Richmond Football Club on its proposed Punt Road Oval Redevelopment.
The RFC was founded in 1885 and is one of the largest AFL football clubs. Punt Road Oval, known as ‘Tigerland’, has been RFC’s home since the club’s inception and team’s home ground until 1965 (when games moved to the MCG). Tigerland has continued as the club’s primary training facility, home ground for the VFL team and more recently as home of the AFLW program. RFC also supports community programs from Tigerland including the Korin Gamadji Institute, the Bachar Houli Foundation and the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School.
The project involves:
- Reorientating and expanding the oval to align with the MCG dimensions
- Constructing a new grandstand
- Upgrading buildings specialised AFLW and improved AFL / VFL facilities
- Constructing a new grandstand terrace which will incorporate purpose-built community facilities
- An atrium link to the existing Swinburne Centre
- Underground car parking
