The Victorian Government has partnered with German biotechnology company BioNTech, the developers of the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19mRNA vaccine, to establish a clinical scale mRNA manufacturing facility and innovation centre in Melbourne. The arrangement will see BioNTech deliver next-generation mRNA therapeutics and vaccines for research and clinical trials, including infectious diseases, cancer medicines and personalised cancer treatments. The planned facility will be located at La Trobe University’s Bundoora campus.
