Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service Health Facility
The STARS Hospital provides medium to long-stay rehabilitation services, short-stay elective surgery such as endoscopy and specialist outpatient care. It includes 182 beds, seven operating theatres, three endoscopy suites and specialist consulting rooms.
The project was developed using an innovation to the traditional public private partnership (PPP) model where the facility was developed using the PPP risk transfer model and is operated by the Metro North Hospital Health Service (MNHHS) under a 20-year lease, with two 10-year options. The lease retains the availability based performance regime of a traditional PPP.
