Global Renewables Limited (GRL) is the largest Alternative Waste Treatment (AWT) facility in the southern hemisphere with over 220,000 tonnes of household waste processed each year.​

To date GRL has processed over 3 million tonnes of household waste and have avoided over 2.5 million tonnes of CO2e emissions.​

Planum was advisor to GRL and its owners between 2019 and 2022:​

- Advising on refinancings, finance structuring and financier management and negotiations​

- Advising on commercial negotiations with key stakeholders amidst regulatory changes and uncertainties impacting the sector​

- Advising and supporting assessment of strategic initiatives through the regulatory uncertainties​

- Advising GRL shareholders on the ultimate sale of the facility to Cleanaway in August 2022
